About the research

Millions of us in the UK experience hearing loss. It can change how we interact with friends and family, participate at work and in social situations, and experience the world. For some, hearing loss leads to isolation, loneliness and challenges with mental wellbeing.

This research has been made possible by gifts in Wills and donations to the former Medical Research Council (MRC) Institute of Hearing Research, including the generous support of Esme Gray, in memory of her son Stuart Gray.
